The 19th International Conference on Wear of Materials with take place in Portland, Oregon, USA, 14-18 April 2013. Two typed of papers ar invited: 1) full-length research-qulity papers that involve materials aspects of wear, wear analysis and wear modeling, and 2)shorter, concise case studies. 3 PhD positions are now available at the Department of Innovation Engineering at the University of Salento in Lecce, Italy. Funding is provided by the European Research Council Starting Researcher Grant project "INTERFACES-Mechanical Modeling of Interfaces in Advanced Materials and Structures".

The successful applicant will work on topics related to computational methods for interface modeling, isogeometric analysis, and multiscale methods.
