Post-doctoral position at the University of Texas

Submitted by Ravi-Chandar on

The Research Center for Mechanics of Solids, Structures and Materials at the University of Texas at Austin invites applications for an open position as Post-doctoral Fellow. The specific project involves the characterization of the constitutive and failure behavior of structural materials (aluminum alloys, steels, titanium alloys, metal-matrix composites, polymers and other selected materials) under quasi-static and dynamic conditions.

Physical Foundations of Continuum Mechanics

Submitted by Mubeen on

After many publications and lecture notes, Prof. Ian Murdoch has finally organized much of that material in the form of a book.

I am very hopeful that like Prof. Murdoch's lectures, this monograph will also help the readers to develop a better understanding of the physical aspects of mechanics. It will be a valuable addition to the researchers' personal collection.

A crystal plasticity continuum theory with length scale dependent internal residual stress and free surface effect

Submitted by RaminBabaei on

The long range elastic interaction between dislocations is naturally accounted in
discrete dislocation plasticity through stress field of individual dislocation.
In addition, the dislocation boundaries elastic interaction is considered via
image stress superposition approach in the finite element framework. In current
study these interaction terms are considered in crystal plasticity framework
through length scale dependent internal residual stresses which are arise from

Initiating in hybrid composite research?

Submitted by karan dhanjal on

hello everyone..i am a beginner in this field so ultimately seek help in order to escalate in my research.Currently i am working on hybrid composites using graphite filled FRPCs so kindly encourage me and help me make up my mind for better understanding in order to have an effective research.I am concentrating on tribological properties and if there is anything i can possibly implement to make it more profound please guide me so.I am working on my theoratical thesis right now.
