regarding stress calculation in taylor cylinder impact test
hi all,
hi all,
Dear all,
I want to achieve these procedures in abaqus, but I did not know how to do it, could you give me some suggestions?
In the first step, discretize the structure by the transport mesh and run transport analysis for the structure.
In the second step, using the results (stored in the user defined field), discretize the structure by the stress mesh(normal stress analysis), and run the stress analysis.
Dear Colleagues,
In the literature two definitions of incompressible solid can be found. The first one is: Poisson's ratio =0.5, and the second is: the third invariant of the Cauchy-Green deformation tensor J=1. I wish to understand the connections between these two definitions. To me, here is something strange. Poisson's ratio relates strains to stresses, and J as the combination of strain tensor components, doesn't depend on Poisson's ratio. I'll be grateful to you, if you explain me how these two definitions are connected.

► The underlying material response of partially unstable materials is measured. ► This is done for Lüders deformed steel and a shape memory alloy. ► They both exhibit an up-down-up response. ► The extracted responses used in numerical models reproduce the structural responses.
Dear All,
Anyone know how to assign surface contact properties to all elements in Abaqus?
i.e. all elements have contact (cohesive) properties on each boudary, so a crack propagates following those boundaries without defining pre-known crack path.
Does Abaqus support those automatic insertion fuction since manually inserting properties to all elementary boundaries is non sense...
Thank you in advance,
Joon
Can anyone offer information in regards to the SN fatigue curve classification for a steel plate with a central drilled hole? Thanks.
