In March 2021, The University of Manchester signed a 10 year collaboration agreement with the UKAEA, resulting in a £15M investment for two new research groups; Digital Engineering and Tritium. I lead the Digital Engineering group. The aim is to build a virtual garage where engineers can try out new designs for fusion reactors more quickly than building full-scale prototypes.
Fully supported Postdoc and Ph.D. positions are available immediately in Dr. Kai Yu’s research group (https://sites.google.com/site/kaiyuhomepage/) at the University of Colorado Denver.
Postdoc positions are available in Professor Min Luo’s group (https://person.zju.edu.cn/en/minluo) at the Ocean College of Zhejiang University, China. Those holding a Ph.D. degree in the area of Ocean/Coastal Engineering and Fluid Mechanics are welcome to apply. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in Computational/Experimental Fluid Dynamics and data-driven simulation, etc.
Two funded Ph.D. positions in the broad area of computational mechanics are available in Dr. Yuan’s research group (https://wp.wpi.edu/yuan/) at the Aerospace Engineering Department at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Self-motivated individuals with research experience/ strong passion in ONE or more of the following areas are strongly encouraged to apply,
We seek candidates with good research experience in computational mechanics, solid mechanics, and plasticity theory. The candidate is to use computational modeling to study the dislocation-mediated microstructure evolution and material behavior in various manufacturing processes.
The desired candidate will have:
· Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering / Solid Mechanics / Material Science
· Solid background in the mechanics of materials, nonlinear continuum materials, dislocation theory of plasticity of metals
