Greetings from Lexington, Kentucky! We are an interdisciplinary research group in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Kentucky. We specialize in the modeling, computation and simulation of materials across multiple length- and time-scales. Our missions include advancing fundamental understanding of materials under different operating environments and making contributions to material design and discovery for diverse applications.

I have a post-doc position for 24 months at Imperial College London, funded by Rolls Royce, working on dislocation mechanics modelling for problems in nuclear materials, full advert and application from the link below. An immediate postdoctoral associate position with a tentative start date of Jan 15 is available in Advanced Hierarchical Materials by Design Lab at the University of Alabama with Prof. Kasra Momeni on multiscale modeling materials and processes. This project aims to develop multiscale models of alloys under extreme conditions, such as radiation, heat, and stresses, to develop new alloys. The postdoctoral researcher will lead several projects on material design using various techniques, such as molecular dynamics, phase-field, and CALPHAD.

The 11^th Jinshan High-level Academic Forum will be held on December 10^th, 2021 in Jiangsu University, China. Positions are available in ‘Department of Mechanics and Engineering Science’ and ‘Research Center of Structural Health Management’. We are looking for highly motivated and talented individuals with a recent PhD or Post doc degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.

Fully funded PhD positions are available in the Intelligent Computational Mechanics Group led by Dr. Qizhi He at the Department of Civil, Environmental, and Geo- Engineering of the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities (UMN). In March 2021, The University of Manchester signed a 10 year collaboration agreement with the UKAEA, resulting in a £15M investment for two new research groups; Digital Engineering and Tritium. I lead the Digital Engineering group. The aim is to build a virtual garage where engineers can try out new designs for fusion reactors more quickly than building full-scale prototypes.
