Description
Applications are invited for a two-year appointment as Postdoctoral Research Associate in metamaterials and ML at the Micro and Nanomechanics Lab, Northwestern University. The candidate will conduct research in the area of mechanics of metamaterials and will be expected to contribute to experimental and computational efforts within a vibrant multidisciplinary research group and closely collaborate with groups in the Materials Science and Chemistry Departments.
Requirements:
A 1-year long postdoc position (starting approximately from October 1st, 2022) is available at Univ. of Parma, ITALY
on the topic: "Multiphysics modeling of piezoelectric polymers".
The candidates must hold a Ph.D. degree and must have deep expertise and experience in theoretical and numerical modeling
of the mechanics and physics of polymers.
If you are interested, please contact urgently the responsible of the project,
Prof. Roberto Brighenti
The PAI Lab is seeking a Senior Postdoc for a fully funded position (work location in Israel).
As a senior postdoc in the PAI Lab, you will lead multidisciplinary research toward creating soft robotic systems possessing physical AI. Specifically, you will work at the nexus of functional matter, processing, design, and manufacturing to develop material-based actuator-sensor-control loops for soft robots with learning-based control.
I am looking for a research fellow (pre/post-doc) to join my group at Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna (Pisa, Italy) to work on the ERC project ALPS - AI-based Learning for Physical Simulation.
Dear mechanicians,
I am looking for students interested in doing a Ph.D. or M.A.Sc. (two Ph.D. students and one M.A.Sc. student). The positions are funded by NSERC and by several industrial partners. Students from everywhere can apply (there is no restriction on nationality). The positions are going to be related to:
1- Simulation of dynamic fracture of Alumina under high-strain rate.
2- Spall and dynamic fracture modeling and testing of materials.
3- Device failure modes under blast and impact conditions.
Dear mechanicians,
I am posting this on behalf of my friend and colleague, Prof. Shmuel. If interested, please contact him directly (meshmuel [at] technion.ac.il).
Best regards,
Mauricio
Description:
A fully-funded Ph.D./postdoctoral position in the field of data-driven modeling of engineering materials is available at the Department of Mechanics, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Czech Technical University in Prague. The position will be supervised by Dr. Anna Kučerová and will involve close collaboration with the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology.
The Grytz Lab seeks a Post-doctoral fellow for imaging-informed computational modeling of the eye. This position is funded from a recently awarded NIH/NEI R01 grant. The candidate will participate in developing personalized finite element models that combine patient-specific morphology and biomechanical property inputs from in vivo imaging using optical coherence tomography to advance personalized medicine in the eye.
Griffith University (Gold Coast, Australia) have PhD scholarships available for suitably qualified candidates. For the next competitive intake, we are looking to recommend two PhD candidates to work on the development of lightweight fibre-reinforced composite materials. We are particularly interested to hear from (and preference will be given to) applicants with some experience in the area of design, manufacture and testing (destructive or non-destructive) of composites, and/or machine learning (ML) techniques applied to engineering problems.
