Hydrodynamic Pressure on Culvert Gates during an Earthquake - 2012

Submitted by SIMULIA on

The study was performed using scaled Tabas earthquake acceleration as the input seismic motion. The results of the simulations are presented in form of a parametric study on the effect of culvert tunnel length, venting geometry, dimension and topology of the vents,

existence of notch at the vent opening, and also the cavitation effect.

Fluid-Structure Interaction in Civil Engineering Structures - 2012

Submitted by SIMULIA on

The methodology is applied to the analysis of dams, lock gates, and large storage tanks, incorporating in some cases a comparison with the results produced by means of simplified analytical procedures.

2012 SIMULIA Customer Conference 1 A Study on the Lateral Stiffness of the Passenger Car Suspension - 2012

Submitted by SIMULIA on

This paper shows that the lateral stiffness analysis result of vehicle suspension can be improved with the accurate bearing stiffness model correlated with experimental vehicle test data and also, shows which design parameters contribute to lateral stiffness of vehicle suspension.

3D Thermal Analysis of Li-ion Battery Cells with Various Geometries and Cooling Conditions Using Abaqus - 2012

Submitted by SIMULIA on

This report indicates that the 3D electro-thermal model employed in this study characterizes the electro-thermal behavior of the Li-ion battery cells reasonably well.

Integrated Simulation Data and Process Management System for Virtual Tire Development using SIMULIA SLM - 2012

Submitted by SIMULIA on

The objective of this study is to provide an analysis portal to increase their usage through a larger community. SLM has been used to host the automation of the processes and manage the lifecycle of the data used and generated. This report will describe the initial objectives, the implementation experience and the results obtained.

Finite Element Modeling of Railroad Track Components - 2012

Submitted by SIMULIA on

In this paper, finite element (FE) models are developed for

some of the ballasted track components including wood and concrete crossties, ballast and subgrade. A user material subroutine is employed to predict the failure of wood ties based on an

orthotropic stress criterion.

Dynamics of a Completion String in a Fluid Filled Wellbore - 2012

Submitted by SIMULIA on

The mechanical manipulation of the equipment, however, can induce significant sudden movement of the completion tubing string near the tool’s locking mechanism. The rapid movement of the tubing string causes large relative motion and “piston effect” forces between tool components and fluid present in the wellbore.

Development of Stiffness Analysis Program for Automotive Wheel Bearing - 2012

Submitted by SIMULIA on

In this study, the program BSAP was developed to carry out the stiffness analysis by designer easily and quickly. BSAP has three templates; CATIA template, AFC template, and Report template.

Bushing connector application in Suspension modeling - 2012

Submitted by SIMULIA on

A simplified suspension assembly for upper control arm was analyzed, tested and correlated for load deflection data. This documentation reveals the effective utilization of Bushing
connector and accurate representation of coupled Bushing and Bolt joint
in a suspension assembly
