The Civil Engineering project focuses on the sustainability and resiliency of transportation infrastructure to sea level rise.
The Aerospace Engineering project focuses on the multi-physics modeling of composites and soft polymeric materials exposed to extreme conditions.
PhD positions in Civil Engineering at the University of Technology Sydney starting early 2023. The research is on computational modelling of energy-absorbing materials, computational fracture mechanics, and computational optimisation. Applicants with a strong publication track record in this research field are preferred.

Fully funded PhD positions are available in the Intelligent Computational Mechanics Group led by Dr. Qizhi He at the Department of Civil, Environmental, and Geo- Engineering of the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities (UMN). The expected start date is Fall 2022. The successful candidate will work with Dr. He on the research areas that involve Multiscale Materials Modeling, Meshfree Methods, Mechanistic Machine Learning, Data-Driven Computing, and Structural Optimization.
