Structural analysis of a bullwheel on Ansys

Hi everybody,

I have some problems with the structural analysis of an drive bullwheel on Ansys.

How can I apply the load on the bullwheel groove

Tangential (constant) and normal components

I was thinking to apply the normal load using a prep>loads>define_loads>apply>FUNCTIONS but I'm not good at this option. Is it necessary to define a particular coordinate system?

ABAQUS> documentation > *.inp example files> Projectile impacting eroding plate

I have two questions about abaqus *.inp files.

first of all, as you may know, users are capable of running these type of example files through this way:

File> Import> Model...> SIMULIA>documentation>docs> v6.12> books> eif> *.inp

but when i run each of them (for instance Projectile impacting eroding plate: pl3d_erode_ccs.inp) , two important question marks above them will arised.

Constitutive models for rubber

Hi.

I found a very useful explanation about hyperelasticity here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyperelastic_material#cite_note-Ogden-1

In the proof3, there is a good explanation (I can't found anything better than this one) of how we can express the Cauchy stresses in terms of the principal streches.

I am interested to incompressible material, so this is the equation:

what is the concept of this Abaqus Doc. paragraph?

hi im modeling submerged cylinder subjected to underwater explosion.

this paragraph is related to example of Abaqus in Documentaion.

what is the meaning and concept of this paragraph (Addess mass):

i attached the image of paragraph text.

i appreciate your kind helps :)

Hello friends

I have a question about analysis method in Abaqus.

I want study the progressive of elements failure in a truss structure to find which element fail at first and which one fail after that while whole of the structure collapses.

Which kind of analysis method I could use?

Thanks a lot

Temperatures updating in Abaqus (V)umat.

Submitted by YangTan on

As we know, Abaqus/(v)umat provides the temperatures at each material point at the end of the increment, but in a thermo-mechanical problem, the heat induced by plastic deformation is unknown before the plastic strain is calculated. So, How the temperatures at material points in abaqus are updated?

Thanks in advance.

Hello, pls i need ur assistance on how to solve these problems

1) calculate young's modulus for an iron crystal when tension is applied along a <122> direction.

2) consider a thin-wall tube that is 1 inch in diameter and has a 0.010-inch wall thickness. let x, y and z be the axial, tangential(hoop), and radial directions, respectively.

(a) the tube is subjected to an axial tensile force of 80 lbs. and turque of 100in-lbs what is the magnitude of the largest principal stress?
