Duplication of data in create XY (field outputs)

Submitted by rajan_prithivi on

Dear all,

I am a new abaqus user. i wasnt able to figure out the following problem. Could you please help me in figuring this out..?

I am running a simulation in Abaqus and iam creating few "Field output requests"... While i try to do create XY data  i found that time step data  is being  duplicated  (please see attachment) . Due to the repetition of data im not being able to do further operations like averaging summing etc...

Abaqus Explicit - Constant mass outflow in ALE analysis

Submitted by Nunzio Losacco on

Hi all,

I am running an ALE simulation with Abaqus Explicit. I need to prescribe a constant mass outflow at an eulerian boundary in my domain. Do you know any way to implement this? I was considering using density as a state variable, averaging on the boundary and then adjusting the outflow velocity boundary condition in order to get a constant mass flow. Apparently there's no way to save density as a sdv.

Any suggestions?

Critical Fracture Energy for Mode I ,& Mode II

Submitted by Ilias I. Tourl… on

Hi all.

I have known some mechanical properties of a material which are:

Young Modulus

Shear Modulus

Strength in shear

Strength in tension

Strength in compression.

I'd like to estimate (in order to run an ABAQUS cracking propagation analysis using XFEM) the material parameters which are Gc(I),GcII (critical fracture energies), and the softening law.As i tend to choose a linear law i have to know also the displacement where stress goes to zero.

All i have are the above mentioned mechanical properties.

Any ideas?

Tie constraints to model bonded surfaces in Abaqus

Submitted by NicoleCaio on

Dear all,

I would like to represent a perfect bond between two steel solids by means of an adhesive composite compound, treated as a solid layer (as first attempt). I defined in Abaqus CAE two tie constraits :

  1. Master surf: Bottom steel solid top surface ; Slave surf: adhesive layer bottom surface
  2. Master surf: adhesive layer top surface ; Slave surf: top steel solid bottom surface

This bond should represent a reinforcement on a ship structure, subjected to traction loads.

About the Isotropic Hardening in VUMAT

Submitted by Chenjun Wu on

Hello

I found the following code in <Writing User Subroutines with Abaqus> about the isotropic hardening in plasticity Vumat. But I was confused by some of the codes which i have Bolded in the following subroutines.

a) When introducing the input data, there are two dots after "props(3..)". what does this mean? Does it means Prop(3) have more than one data or it just means there will be other props.

b) In the vuhard subroutines, there is a "table(2, nvalue)". What is it? What does it point to?

How can i model "Anchorage" for a internal unbonded post-tension in ABAQUS?Please Help

Submitted by siren300 on

hello guys

i model a concrete column bridge and i don't know how can i model anchorage for unbonded post-tension in ABAQUS.post-tension is inside a Duct(Duct or Pip post-tension is empty.CUZ is unbonded).

please help me

Hi,

I have a bicrystal with 2 material orientations in Euler Angles. How do I assign them to my Abaqus Input file? I am using Dr Huang's code for CP. After going through several forums, I understood that I have to create a card with *ORIENTATION entry.

This is what I am trying to do:

Its not quite clear to me. Could anyone please please simplify and explain how I could do the same? Thanks a lot!

Elastic Deflection equations for circular laminates for pizo-electric pumps

Submitted by farzad64 on

Hi All

I was searching for equations for deflection of laminated plates , the way they are used in pizoelectric micropumps. if you have any resource , paper , please share it with me. there is a hollow disk that it's perimeter is connected to a ring, the hollow disk is a laminate.
