Error in look-up table generation: which dataline entries to add?

I am playing a bit with subroutines in Abaqus 6.13 to understand how they work.
At the moment I am using a VUSDFLD to variate the stiffness/density/conductivity in a model (I defined the field variable) depending on Temperature and Position.

It seems that there are not particular errors in the inp file and in the for file, but I got this error in the .sta file:

Hi all,

        I am trying to simulate the laser welding of butt joint in ANSYS to find out the residual stress after the welding. Can anyone help in modelling the welding process in any way like suggesting the basic important literature and how to model the moving heat flux. Do we need to define the elements at the bead in modelling the welding proicess?. In laser welding we dont have the filler material in that case how those plates are joined in simulation?.

Is there any kind of tutorial available in ANSYS to model the welding process.

 

how to find parameters in cohesive surface?

Dear all,

I am working on micro mechanical modeling of metals. I just have some questions that I am wondering if anyone can help me by answering them.

1. I know that for cohesive element , it is important to have the match meshes in boundaries of the surfaces but my question is that is it also important to have match meshes in boundaries when we define surface base cohesive? 

2. can any one tell me that how I can find the the values that I need to define cohesive surface? I mean:

Dear all,

I want to define cohesive surface in my model which is a polycrystalline of Titanium with its grains. Can anyone help me that How I should find the appropriate values for fracture energy and mode mix ratio 1 and 2?

For damage initiation, what do I consider for normal, shear 1 and shear 2 in contact property of interaction module? Are Tensile and shear strength suitable for these properties?

Please give some brief explanation about  *BEAM GENERAL SECTION parameter used in abaqus. 

i gone through dcumentation but i am not getting.as i am new to the abaqus learing

So please give me some examples using *BEAM GENERAL  SECTION.

Characteristic length in ductile damage model in ABAQUS

Hi All,

 

I want to model a dogbone specimen made from polycarbonate.

I model it using linear elastic plasticity coupled with ductile damage model.

For the damage, we are going to use the tabular form to described the damage evolution d with respect to equivalent plastic strain epsilon_p.

In abaqus, it is written that we need to input the d with respect of equivalent plastic displacement (u_p) instead of epsilon_p via equation u_p = epsilon_p \times L; where L is the characteristic length.
