ABAQUS Euler-to-Euler Contact in CEL model

Submitted by pengbingxiao on

Dear friends,

I am modeling contact problem with CEL method, which involves 2 kinds of materials (euler-to-euler contact) in euler domain and 3rd material in lagrangian (euler-to-lagrangian contact) domain. The modeling of contact between the euler and lagrangian is okay.

But the modeling of interaction of euler-to-euler contact seems to be lack of information in ABAQUS Documentation.

How to obtain the Force-Indentation depth curve of nanoindentation FEA?

Submitted by Amin Khajeh on

Dear all experts,

I did FEA of nanoindentation with using Abaqus and considered displacement of reference point (RP) on the indenter as a punching tool. Moreover, Abaqus/Explicit method  was applied for solving problems.

But I do not know how to plot Force-Indention depth curve via FEA with using Abaqus.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Amin

Hello everybody,

My task is to write a UMAT for Non-linear Viscoelasicity based on Schapery's model in ABAQUS. I have coded the routine, but I am still not able to predict correct response. I tried to debug it as much as I can. I understand that it would be difficult for anybody to understand my code. So, I have attached a flowchart (pdf) of the whole algorithm that I follow. It would be nice if you could check that and correct me if I am wrong.

Thanks in advance for your time and consideration

strains from the given Displacements with given X Y values by Radial Basis Function Thin Plate Spline in MATLAB

Submitted by Zuhaib Nazir on

Dear Researchers

I have attach a text file with this message in which I have written all my code. I have applied the Radial Basis Function (interpolation) to find approximated displacements.

f = RBF(r)*a

f = given values e-g displacements to be approximate

RBF(r)= Radal Basis function (Thin Plate spline)

a= Radial Basis Function coefficient

X= x distance from the origin (given) (first column of disppoints)

Y= y distance from the origin (given)(second column of disppoints) For example as below

How to Draw a Two Phase Unit Cell in ABAQUS

Submitted by Muhammad Ziaur… on

Hello,

Is there any tutorial (video/documents) on how to draw and do finite element analysis of a two phase fiber reinforced composite unit cell? I dyingly need to learn how to apply periodic boundary condition in such a unit cell. I found a paper which shows to apply PBC on a one phase unit cell and it uses inp file. But is not it possible to draw, apply PBC and run a simulation using CAE?

I have attached a PDF file where I have described a problem with which I got stuck. Could you help me in this regard, please?

Simulating Pull-out test in abaqus

Submitted by Anusha AVL on

I have mediocre knowledge in abaqus. I want to simulate pull-out test of concrete and ribbed bars in abaqus. I am using a axis-symmetric element and using 1.0 mm thick cohesive elements for simulating the bond. What all the parameters to be given and how we have to assign the bond law in abaqus.( procedure in abaqus)Please help me. I am struggling from a lot of days. Thanks in advance.

Hi

I want to simulate experimental result of a CFRP [45/0/-45/90]s single lap joint in ABAQUS.

I have given geometry, properties & graphical result in the uploaded images.

Yellow color plate in the joint geometry is the E-Glass end tabs to grab both the ends

of the joint in the hydraulic grips. The loading(shear) is carried out at 0.5mm/min.

Thichness of each ply is 0.12mm; so thickness(T) of one CFRP plate is 0.12*8 = 0.96mm.

Thickness of adhesive layer is 0.15mm.

Overlap length(L) is 10mm.
