Modeling concrete constructions

Good day everyone!

I have two questions about concrete modelling in Abaqus.

1. How to create smeared skin reinforcement  -i mean how to assign rebar numbers to elements.

2. in Concrete damage model how to find dilatacion angle (flow angle) using code parameters (i mean tensile strength and others).

Recently I faced few questions in a course that I am attending:

 

1) Outline the salient features of different higher order shell theories.

 

2)Explain why some shell theories are not suitable as the basis of element formulation.

 

3) Discuss any limitations of elements being used in relation to their underlying formulation ( e.g use of shallow shell theory or cylindrical shell theory).

 

Feap 7.5: Symmetric boundary condition in 3D?

Please help me if you know.

I need to simulate a thick tube suffers internal pressure. Assume that there is not deformation in thickness direction.

How to impose the symmetric boundary conditions when I simulate a part 10° of the tube (only 10°, not 90° )?

In Feap 7.5, is there the quadratic hexahedral element (20 nodes)?

Dear All,

I am modeling rubber seal with hyperelastic material and I am using CAX4R Element for modeling. I achieved contact solution using initial analysis and as an output I got contact pressure and radial and axial displacement of the nodes.

Hello everyone,

    I am M.Tech student,i am working on Stability of shell Structures. I am in the process of selecting a relevant topic to do my M.Tech Thesis. For almost 2months now, i am searching for a topic which will be new and had not done much in the literature.

    I had seen topics like anisotropic shells, buckling instability, snap-through, cracks in anisotropic cylindrical pressure vessels.

I am using a FORTRAN FE code for 4 quad elements with a viscoelastic material and with contact analysis. The routine follows a Newton Raphson iteration scheme and which makes the residual zero for convergence. I am using direct sparse matrix solver from the FORTRAN math library.
