Help Modelling Material in Abaqus

Submitted by drestr21 on

Hello All

I need to model a material in Abaqus that when I load the piece, the

material behaves with an Elastic modulus and when I unload the piece the

material behaves with a different Elastic modulus but don't recover all

the strain when the stress is released.

Enclosed you can find the behavior that I want to model.

Any ideas??

Thanks in advance.

Eulerian Mesh for Modelling Solids!

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on

Dear all,

in modelling fluid-solid interaction, it is more common to use a coupled
Eulerian-Lagrangian mesh, as far as I know. It would be advantageous, in a way, to model
solid through an Eulerian mesh to establish a unified mesh for the whole
problem and to allow for large diformation and even; however, the litrature seems to be poor (or at least to me
after searching Google) in that area!

I know that Lagrangian meshes are better for modelling solids. Nevertheless, it should not be the only way or is it?

Dear

I have problem with Abaqus 6.10 and fortran 11,0,6 on WIN 7 x64 platform

When I run Abaqus verification it pass all C++ Fortran  requirement but when it check for subroutine for standard case or explicit it has problem:

It is  std_user.log for error

Abaqus UMAT problem

Submitted by yoon on
Hello

I'm a new commer in Abaqus and working on topology shape optimization for dental implantation.
I have two user-defined materials for Jaw bone area, and using the stress-increment-controlled method
Young's modulus of an element is changed according to the following equation (1) with two constraints (2)

E(i+1) = E(i) + k(sigma(i) - sigma_ref)   --- (1)

where k and sigma_ref are constants

E(i+1) = E_min if E(i+1)<E_min

Extracting Load proportionality factor (LPF) from odb file in ABAQUS using python script

Submitted by ssha6693 on

Dear firends,

I run some abaqus input files and got my odb files(for example 100 odb files in a specific folder with the name of try). I want to extract LPF (load proportionality factor for whole model) using python script (In my analysis I used static riks). I used the following commands but when I run my script I get an error :

i am new to Abaqus and i am unsing Abaqus 6.10

i planned to solve a contact problem by taking a bearing for example problem. i modelled the bearing section in pro-e and inmported it to Abaqus.

*i gave the material properties of steel for both ball and races

* in interferance i defined ball as master and the surfaces in the reces in the bearing as slave. frictionless.

* i gave pressure on the top race and arresteed the bottom race.

* the sides were given symentric with respect to y axis.

when solved i get the job is aborted.

Material properties and temperature

Submitted by ghayth81 on

Hi All,

As you know the material properties such as Modulus of Elasticity, Poisson's ratio and Shear Modulus are temperature dependent. Especially, the polymer material as it shows significant reduction in strength and stiffness with temperature increasing.

I did a tensile test on adhesive material at different temperatures. The results showed that the E-modulus is reduced about 70% at 60 °C and the Poisson’s ratio increased also.

and here i just want to give trapezoidal form of load up to 2 sec.so plz help me in these ...............
