ABAQUS, Contact definition between soil and nail

Hi There,

I am  modelling a soil nail wall with ABAQUS. I am wondering to know what interaction I am supposed to define for connecting nail to wall and nail to soil? By the way, I define soil as 2D plane strain and wall and beam as beam element.

internal pressurization test

I am doing a simulation of a Prestressed concrete containment vessel for

internal pressurization test. currently i have made a 3D concrete model

and embedded a reinforcing structure and tendons into it using embedded

region option. but during analysis, it is showing that ratio of

deformation speed to wave propagation speed exceeded 1 in some elements

and the job is getting aborted. someone pls help me figure out what

could be the reason. I have attached my input file for

reference......thank you....

vumat error

Hi, everyone

I am a new user for VUMAT. I am simulating the impact behavior of the laminates.

I search for the vumat file from Mr.Benz in this forum

But when I try it the error is strange:"No vumat subroutine was supplied for the user material named: cfrp



Abaqus/Explicit Packager exited with an error - Please see the  status file for possible error messages if the file exists."



ALE adaptive meshing in ABAQUS.

hello all,

 I am carrying out a metal forming simulation in ABAQUS using ALE with Explicit solver. I have used plastic properties of material. Though ALE are designed for mesh smoothening advection sweeps (that is ALE is supposed to take care of mesh smoothening); I am facing a problem. ABAQUS gives me an error "excessive element distortion". 

Two different user-defined subroutines in Abaqus? Or, one user-defined subroutines with different material constants?

Does anyone know how to (if it is feasible)

1. use Two user-defined subroutines in one system?

or, alternatively,

2. use One user-defined subroutine with different material constants for different regions in one system?

(ex. one region uses a user-defined subroutine with material constant 10 and the other region uses the SAME

user-defined subroutine but with different material constant, e.g. 20).

The static unbalance is:

The moment of inertia is:

drying modeling in abaqus

Good morning

I'm working in Abaqus on drying modeling. Regards this i have two questions.

1)Drying modeling is possible in Abaqus

2)I would like to ask if it is possible for Abaqus to model drying how can i create automatic crack propagation in 2D or 3D

P.S. sorry for my english, i hope everything is clear enough to understand this post. i hope someone can help me.
