Ductile Damage criterion in ABAQUS

Submitted by Mariona Bosch on

Hello ,

I´m working in my thesis with abaqus only since 4 months, so I´m quite
new. I have to simulate the welding of two sheets with electromagnetic
pulse process. Under these kind of processes the material is load under
high values of velocity and deformations. Taking into account these
conditions I have chosen three different flow plasticity models:

-Isotropic plasticity model without strain rate with johnson cook damage ductile criterion.

hi

I want to model a metal with nonlinear kinematic hardening material in ABAQUS. As i read in its user guide manual there is one option in plastic hardening named combined. I want to know if it is an option for modeling a material for combined kinematic and isotropic hardening or nonlinear kinematic?

thanks in advance

Hi,

Just need help to find out how to read results at intergration points in Shell Elemnts in ansys. I need 5 integration points across the thickness of my model.

Thanks in advance

3D modelling of welding

Submitted by nepal1 on

hello,

I want to simulate the welding simulation found in manufacturing of welded pipe of big diameters. The thick plates are rolled to desired diameters and then they are welded from inside and outside in that joining point. So i want to ask if the finite element software like ABAQUS and ANSYS can support this kind of simulation or not??

joints for nonlinear 3D beams (master/slave)

Submitted by fredo on

Hello,

After having implemented the corotational formulation for 3D beams (after Crisfield  90), I am now trying to insert joints between some elements of a structure. I found the article by Jelenic and Crisfield [Comput. Methods Appl. Mech. Engrg. 135 (1996) pp. 211-228] to be a good starting point concerning the "master-slave" approach (my problem is static). However, I don't manage to implement the solution process : I think I have not fully understood the approach yet.

Hi All,

i am doing my m. tech project on " FE modeling and validating to find stress intensity factor for a crack emanating from one rivet hole and approaching another rivet hole".I have developed the FE model in ANSYS and tabulated stress intensity factor at crack tip from different crack length. But to validate my result i want an mathematical model or formula. Please suggest me an formula to find KI at the crack tip for this problem.
