Adaptive meshing of Orphan Mesh

Submitted by panky108 on

Hello Everyone,

I have a model which I created in the Hypermesh and simulated in Abaqus. I want to perform Adaptive remeshing on my model.

When I am trying to do that in Abaqus CAE, It is giving error that Orphan Mesh are not allowed in remeshing;

I have tried to create Mesh part and also by converting solid mesh in to shell But did not succeed .

Please suggest me some way to achieve my goal.

Thank you in advance.

about using hashin criteria in abaqus

Dear all, Hi

 I'm trying to model damage in laminated composite using hashin criteria in abaqus.  when I'm specifying the failure variables such as HSNFCCRT in static analysis I can see the variables but in dynamic (using explicit) if I add it as a field output I encounter an Error OUTPUT REQUEST HSNFCCRT IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR THIS OPTION!!!, however I can use it as a history variable output only!!!

can anyone help me with that?

Thanks,

Kind regards

Amin

I have quesstion in abaqus.I want to have elastic and plastic part in material curve and have ultimate stress and when the stress higher than ultimate stess,that material fail. How could I do this? Please help me.

can anyone help me how to model composite materials in ansys

Submitted by Equbay Leake on

I am doing my thesis on crack propagation and vibration analysis of
transmission shaft of a helicopter. I decided the material to be a glass
fiber-reinforced polyester polymer composite. I need to analyze this on
ANSYS. but previously I use Ansys only for monolithic mateials. I need
help how to input the fiber orientation angle, how to mesh and how to
apply the torque. if any one have full tutorial or step by step tutorial
please froward it. my email is ekuba2010 [at] gmail.com. thank you

Can anyone tell me how I can obtain the burst pressure from abaqus output/results please.

I carried out simulations to predict the burst pressure of pipes using Abaqus. I applied internal pressure and the pipe actually busted as shown in the attachment. I requested for pressure to be outputted for nodes and elements sets under “force” in the field output request. When I viewed the result, pressure was not outputted for both the node and the element set.

Contact radius of sphere

Looking through books and papers I see an often quoted equation to show that the contact radius (a) of spherical indenter of radius (R) is related to the indentation depth (h):

a= √(R.h)

However, using simple trigonometry of a spherical cap it can be shown that:

a=√(2Rh-h2)

Contact area is very important for use in nanoindentation - however, if it is based on the wrong contact area calculation, then more errors become apparent.
