Hi all

I am M.Sc. sutdent in Istanbul Technical University and my research subject is comparision of several ductile damage models both computationaly and experimentally.

I am trying to compare ductile damage models such as Freudenthal,Cockroft,Ayada ,Brozzo etc. computationally using ABAQUS and seeking a way to implement these damage models in ABAQUS.

To obtain each models damage result individually should damage model be implemented in ABAQUS or can a regular tensile test results be used for calculation of damage values.

I wanted to know what should we do when we found a scientific problem in a

published journal article, is it impolite to inform the journal Team?  Or we

Hi.. 

I need to know how can I draw a steel beam profile in the y- and z- plan in Abaqus 6.10. While I draw the first beam on the x- and y- plan and I tryed to draw another steel beam in y- and z- axis.. I couldn't.. because I can only draw on x- and y- coordinate. 



And I tryed to rotate the beam after drawing it 90 degree but I couldn't. 



Can you help me with this..

Hi all

I am using Gurson model embedded in Abaqus. I almost simulate the softening part using implicit. however when I tried to simulate the elements removal to simulate the last sudden drop on load, I have to go for explicit.

The problem that the explicit takes long time.

And the main issue that the hardening part has been changed and the model could not catch the maximum load and fail too early.

The image down show the problem ( red:experiment, Blue:implicit, yellow:explicit).

Could anyone tell me why this happen?

Hi, i am a novice abaqus user. I am currently working with abaqus cae for my undergrad summer project.I wanna create a young's modulus gradient within a material. Is writing a UMAT the only possible way? if yes, can any1 pls send in some basic articles on writing umat.

Any help is appreciated
