create 3D crack in ANSYS

DEAR ALL,

Iam relatively new ANSYS USER, and I used line element (pipe288) to model the pipeline, my problem is create 3D crack in this

model and I can't do that in this element type because it needs only define 2 keypoints to accomplish entire model. Iam confused, so how I can model this crack?

Dear all:

Is there anyone to do simulation work on SAW or similar fields? I really need your help.

I just want to apply the periodic condition (U(x+P)=U(x)exp(-j*beta*P), where P is the periodic and this euqtion is the Floquet condition which is usually used in SAW devices) for a SAW simulation with ANSYS.

       I am programming UPFs by using Fortran language, but encounter a problem in compiling/linking it. It will be great thanks to friends to help me to resolve

the problem. The programming environment setting up and the comiling/linking problem are detailed as follows.

Molecular Dynamics from Solid Mechanics Point of View

I am searching for a tutorial or a book which looks into molecular
dynamics method from a Solid Mechanics point of view. All I can find are
the books written for biophysicists or chemistry. I can find lot of
examples on fluids, biomolecules or polymers but none of them are on
simple solids or metals.

Can anyone suggests me a book or a tutorial which can get me ready to
write a program to simulate a simple tensile test of a metal wire (FCC
Al or some simple crystal).

ABAQUS 3D Model

Dear all,

Could anyone shed some light on constructing a 3D model in ABAQUS, which cannot be build by simple extrusion, revolution or sweep. I understand that I can build models in CAD and use it as an input for ABAQUS. The only other software I have is MATLAB. Any ideas on how I can build such models directly in ABAQUS/CAE ?

modeling moving boundary in ansys flotran

Hi

I want to model a piston and cylinder in ANSYS FLOTRAN.
The piston is moving up and down sinusoidal in cylinder and the compressible
gas inside the cylinder is compressing and expanding with time. How can I model
this problem in ANSYS FLOTRAN?

Elastic failure criterion (ABAQUS)

Dear all,

I would like to define an elastic material with a failure value of maximum tensile strain only. Any element reaches a max. tensile strain value will crack and suffer complete loss of load carrying capacity(possibly delete that element). Thus its a change in geometry that is only considered when redistributing stresses.

 Can this be done...I have been working with ABAQUS for some time now but I could not reach any where
