sir,

I need to find out kinetic energy of the element in the harmonic analyis problem of a plate.

i am using ansys command...in /post1

etable,KE,KENE

but no data is stored on the lable KE

please help and suggest some other means to do the same...or the correct method of issuing this command ..

ansys fatigue calculation

dear all,

I performed fatigue analysis for 2205 duplex stainless steel pipe but I noticed from the result allowable cycles that supposed to be calculated by ansys is constant(1e8) in the different locations. and the alternating stress value is too small. so what the source of error that I made?. to explain further I presumed that pipe exposed to two events each one of them include two loads.

any advice is highly appreciated

Periodic Boundary Conditions for Non-orthogonal Unit Cell

Hey guys,

I'm currently doing my master thesis on failure analysis of braided composites.

I want to apply Periodic Boundary Conditions on my non orthogonal (say for a braiding angle of 30°, it becomes a parallelogram) unit cell, and then load the whole thing by applying concentrated forces to a set of dummy nodes (which I call ConstraintsDrivers). I use the equation option in Abaqus. PBCs are defined in global XYZ axes (see attached pic), but I define my loading in a rotated CSYS (x axis from bottom left point to upper right).

Now here's the problem:

hi I am a student of mechanical engineering, Isfahan university of technology in master degree and the title of my thesis is:Rapid crack propagation in pressurised pipe

in order to use Abaqus X-fem for simulation of cracked pipe I have some essential questions :

1)Can I simulate rapid crack propagation of this geometry in Xfem? (with attention to the geometry of a pipe)

2)Is Xfem able to analyze Ductile fracture?

3)Is Xfem able to use larg deformation theory?

wrong Numerical calculation in ABAQUS

Hey Guys,

I have a problem on integrating process in ABAQUS.

in a very simple problem, I applied time history of acceleration as a boundary condition and got displacement of that boundray. Then I applied that time history displacement on the same boundray to reach same acceleration. But they were different.

Anybody knows what's the problem and how I can solve that?

When the APDL is processing on ANSYS near the final the sreen show the error:

"load set are not found on result file file.rth"

what is wrong? Can you help me.load set are not found on result file file.rth

ABAQUS Cylindrical Boundary Conditions

Dear all,

 I am trying to learn ABAQUS using this problem (what I thought would be simple enough):

Initial Geometric Configuration: A Disc (thin) with a finite radius (1 unit) and a wedge (5 degree pie) cut off. It is basically a disc with material present only from phi = [0,355] and the material in phi = (355, 360) is removed.

Cylindrical Boundary Conditions: Displacements degrees of freedom are UR(r,phi) in the radial direction and Uphi(r, phi) in the tangential direction

1) Uphi(r,0) = 0; 2) Uphi(r, 355) = 5 (in degrees)
