Periodic boundary conditions on a non square area

Submitted by Andreas.Ferber on

 Hi all,

I have a Problem concerning periodic boundary conditions. The problem is

that the periodic repeating area is not a square one but has an

arbitrary shape. An example is attached to the here:

a question about ANSYS

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on

I am PHD student working on distortion and residual stresses in reinforced
concrete beams (numerically and experimentally). There
are an error in my simulation using ANSYS which shows a mistake in the material
properties (tangent slope less than zero). Unfortunately I could not find the
error source. I delete a point in the TB miso table and the model was converged
but I am not sure about the result. I have tried to find the accurate way to
modify the model but I have never found any until now.

Report generation in Abaqus with Mode shapes

Hi,

I am performing natural frequency analysis on a cylindrical structure in Abaqus. I am extracting about 80 modes (considering the presence of symmetrical modes). I want to generate a report with all the mode shape patterns and corresponding frequencies listed. Is there any way to do this automatically? Taking Prnt Scrn and generating word document is consuming lot of time and also I have multiple model combinations to do such analysis.

Thank you in advance.

Dear Experts,

I have a bit of confusion regarding jacobian interpretation in finite element analysis. What does Jacobian signifies here? Is this just a transformation matrix between two sets of co-ordinate systems or is it a measure of the deforamtion (streching/shearing) of a mesh element?

Any particlar citation for reference?
