2020 Daniel C. Drucker Medal - Professor Glaucio Paulino
The Executive Committee of the ASME Applied Mechanics Division is pleased to announce and congratulate Professor Glaucio H. Paulino, Raymond Allen Jones Chair & Professor of Structural Engineering, Mechanics and Materials, Georgia Tech, as the recipient of the 2020 Daniel C. Drucker Medal. This award includes a medal, a plaque, and an honorarium.
The Daniel C. Drucker Medal was established in 1997 and is conferred in recognition of distinguished contributions to the field of applied mechanics and mechanical engineering through research, teaching, and service to the community over a substantial period of time. Instituted by the Applied Mechanics Division, this medal honors Dr. Daniel Drucker and commemorates his service to the profession.
Professor Paulino receives the Drucker Medal for pioneering contributions to the field of mechanics, particularly advances in geometric mechanics associated with origami and tensegrity engineering that led to the creation of multifunctional structures and configurational metamaterials with unprecedented properties.
