The AMD-ASME Executive Committee is pleased to announce and congratulate Prof. Shengqiang Cai, Associate Professor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, University of California San Diego, as the 2020 recipient of the Journal of Applied Mechanics Award. This award includes a certificate and an honorarium.
The Journal of Applied Mechanics Award is provided by the Applied Mechanics Division of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers to honor the best paper which has been published in the Journal of Applied Mechanics during the two calendar years immediately preceding the year of the award.
Prof. Cai is being recognized for his paper “Determining prestrains in an elastomer through elliptical indentation”, Journal of Applied Mechanics 86, 101009 (2019).
