I am a freshman to use Abaqus. My project is about modelling of particle compaction. I am running a cubic model which includes 8 spheres and 6 rigid bodies. I fix 5 rigid bodies and define a vertical displacement for the other rigid body. For interactions, I add in General contact for particles with tangential behavior (friction coeff=0.192) and normal contact (''hard'' contact) and Surface to surface contact between rigid and particles with tangential behavior (frictionless) and normal benavior (''hard'' contact). Since I don't add partitions, the mesh is defined as Tet shape.
When the model started to compress, the vertical reaction force increased and decreased rapidly. Then the force almost back to zero. I do not know where the problem comes from. Any advice please!!
