Is it possible to use 2-D finite elements capable of accurately predicting all stresses (three dimensional stress state) for 3-D crack growth simulation?
Anybody know how to get the displacement values on the crack surface using XFEM (there are no nodes on the crack surface as the crack cuts throught the element.
