Dear friends,

I faced with a problem in abaqus, How can I run natural convection in
abaqus?

Supposed that
we have hollow cylinder ( include 2 materials) which is cooled by air (from 427
to 28k).

where can I insert heat transfer coefficient?

Should I run this problem in CFD environment ?

 regards best

Abaqus can impose convection as a sort of boundary condition. You define it in the interaction module. You specify a film coefficient and an external temperature.

However, natural convection will actually vary in magnitude over the vertical length of the tube. If this variation is important to you, then you need to go to a CFD code like Fluent or STAR-CCM+. Abaqus also has a CFD code, but I don't know what its capabilities are.

I hope that helps!
