Temperature growing Riks step ABAQUS

Submitted by joseada89 on

Hi all

I am modeling a truss in fire conditions, using ISO 835 fire for it. Now I have included some imperfections on the braces(L/1000) and I would like to know how to run this type of analysis(RIKS)

I used normally two steps, one to define the load on my truss and the second to import the temperatures as a predefined field. At this moment I do not know ho to modify my model steps in order to reach the solution. My temperature analysis takes 30 min and I cannot add time to a riks analysis

"Plane Remains Plane" boundary condition in Abaqus

Submitted by Danish Khan on

I am working on micromechanics modelling of steels. I need to implement  a "plane remains plane" kind of homogeneous boundary condition on some edges of my RVE of Dual Phase Steel. How can i do it by using *Equation option in Abaqus? I want to understand what all and how the nodes needs to be constrained? I am aware of "Planar Constraint" plugin in Abaqus, but some how it is not working for my RVE, so i want to go via the *EQUATION route. Any help would be greatly appreaciated.

Thanks ,

Danish

Yeoh Model Parameter

Submitted by mahzanjohar on
Greetings,

I'm conducting a simple shear test (single lap joint) between aluminum bonded with 3M adhesive.
Adhesive material is 3M VHB 4930 adhesive (acrylic)

Result obtains =
Load vs Displacement Curve
True Stress vs Stretch Ratio

From the literature, mostly they used Yeoh model for 3M adhesive (Modeling and simulation of dielectric elastomer actuators,M.Wissler 2005).
