Urgent - EU PhD student needed: Modelling of the mechanical and electrical response of composite materials

Submitted by v.tagarielli on

We are looking for a PhD researcher to work at numerical simulations of the electro-mechanical response of nano-reinforced polymers. The position is fully funded including tuition fees and a competitive maintenance/salary (of approximately 3k euros/month), as well as additional benefits for those with a family. The researcher will work towards a PhD in Mechanics of Composites at Imperial College London, Department of Aeronautics, under the supervision of Dr V.L. Tagarielli and Dr S.T. Pinho and in collaboration with several research groups in London and across Europe.

Error about Degree of Freedom 11 in Abaqus

Submitted by Iriene Elok on

Hi friends, I'm new here and also new using abaqus.

I need to do my final project about bird strike analysis using abaqus. But for now, I try to follow the tutorial from youtube about impact bullet first. For some trial sometimes i found errors and never succeed to solve it. Included the impact bullet trial. This is what i've got:

Positions filled: 4 postdoc openings - UC San Diego (US) and Cardiff (UK)

Submitted by alicia on

Applications are sought for four Post-Doctoral Research Associates to join a very active research group at Cardiff University, UK (School of Engineering) and the University of California, San Diego, USA (Structural Engineering Department).  Three postdocs will be based at Cardiff and one at UC San Diego, and there will be frequent interactions and travels between. The research will formulate and develop numerical methods for mulitiscale and multiphysics design optimisation using level set topology optimization.

abaqus multiple user subroutine- updating solution dependent variables

Submitted by miladbabaei on

Hello everyone,

im running a job using 2 user defined subroutine, have a problem initializing solution dependent variables,i have 2sets of state variables (umatht=25 state variables and uexpan 38 state varables.how can i use *initial condition, type = solution to define them?? is it a correct way of defing them??
