The Department of Mechanical Engineering of the Henry M. Rowan College of Engineering at Rowan University invites outstanding applicants for tenure-track or tenured positions at the assistant, associate, or full professor levels. Successful candidates must have a demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence at undergraduate and graduate levels; seek to develop a nationally-recognized, externally funded research program at Rowan University; and contribute to the institution and profession through service.

Two fully funded PhD positions are available as early as Spring, 2024 in Dr. Ning Zhang’s research group at the Baylor University. The research work will focus on the mechanical, chemical, and thermal properties of structural and multifunctional materials.

The research topics include:

(1)   Polymer composites;

(2)   Medium/High entropy alloys;

(3)   High entropy ceramics;

(4)   Biomaterials;

(5)   Machine learning.

The Cambrige Solid Mechanics Group are starting a new project with the aim to transform the design of engineering components from one based on selecting a best single material to one in which material properties and compositions are treated as continuous, spatially varying quantities.
