The question is as:
I want to introduce the critical fracture energies (Gic,Giic) in a mixed mode fracture analysis in Abaqus using the XFEM or the cohesive simulation method.My material can be considered as linear, the problem quasi static and the material properties E,v and yield strength known.

i'm analysing crack-tip stress field by using modified boundary layer (MBL )analysis accounting for large geometric changes.which of the following element type is preferred.
1. 4 noded quadratic element with 2X2 integration.
2. 8 noded quadratic element with reuced integration.
