Funded PhD position at the University of Southampton, UK

Submitted by Benjamin Cameron on

There is an opening for a funded PhD in mechanical engineering at the University of Southampton starting Fall 2023 or Spring 2024, under the supervision of Dr. Benjamin Cameron. This will involve the development of novel theoretical/computational methods to extract material properties from digital image correlation (or digital volume correlation) data in complex settings. See below for a more detailed description of the project.

Postdoc position on digital twins for machines and structures

Submitted by info@signatur.dk on

Are you interested in developing Digital Twin technology for machines and structures? Do you have experience with virtual/hybrid testing and/or structural health monitoring? Are you eager to bridge the gap between structural engineering and cyber-physical system engineering? Then the Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering invites you to apply for a 1.0-year Postdoc position funded by the IFD project “Cyber-physical systems for machines and structures – CP-SENS.”

Multiple Ph.D. positions open

Submitted by Osama R. Bilal on

The lab of Wave Engineering for eXtreme and Intelligent matTEr (We-Xite) has multiple openings for Ph.D. positions. We are looking for exceptional and highly motivated candidates with background in Engineering, Physics, Materials or Mathematics. The research will have a balance between experimental characterizations (non-destructive evaluation of samples fabricated using additive and subtractive methods), numerical simulations (finite element modeling) and analytical derivations (nonlinear dynamics of spring-mass systems). Interested applicant should send a brief (one paragraph) description of their research interests and their resumes (including educational background, test scores and experience). Please send your emails to we.xite.group [at] gmail.com
