loading-unloading tensile test

Submitted by Doctorantons on

Hello,

i would like to simulate a tensile test under stress-controlled loading and to compare numerical results to experiments.

Experimentally, i have imposed the form of this cycle (figure):

Modeling a composite material by means of phase field approaches

Submitted by misagh on

Dear friends,

Hi

I want to model a composite material by means of phase field microelasticity (PFM) theory. This method is mainly used by Khachaturyan in recent years. I am very new in this field and I cannot undrestand how to consider the volume fraction of the inclusions in the formulations. Is there anyone who could help me in the field of phase field approaches??? It would be great if anyone can provide me with some information about the algorithm which was used to compute the mechanical properties of composite materials by means of phase field approaches.

Hello,

I'm new here and I'm not sure if this a right place to ask a question or not.

I'm trying to practice writing UMAT code and I just finished the (Coding for isotropic Mises plasticity) from the the attached document. I'm trying to check validity of this code with simple model: what kind of this simple model? how can I do that?

Please help me with this problem

Regards,

Qusay

Dynamic Rolling Process FE Simulation

Submitted by Hassan Nazari on

Dear All,

I hope all feel so fine with your simulations.

Recently, I am simulation a rolling process with a very high dynamic speed (around 5 m/s). Hence, the model is quite dynamic and not Quasi-static.

I use Abaqus Explicit for this simulation. The structure is composite material including several layers with different material properties. In this case, I am using ''Cohesive Surface'' definition as the surface interaction between different layers.

Different results when *DEFORMATION PLASTICITY vs *PLASTIC used for modelling plasticity of ductile meals in ABAQUS?

Submitted by Prabuddha Sath… on

I got different results for a tensile test simulation when I used *DEFORMATION PLASTICITY (DP), instead of *PLASTIC (P) to model the same material. Ramberg-Osgood (R-O) parameters were directly provided for DP model while true stress/plastic strain values were calculated using the same R-O parameters for P model. Could somebody provide some insight into why that happened? This is not a fracture problem.
