Looking for a postdoc in mechanics of granular materials

Submitted by NgocSon-Nguyen on

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for a postdoc in mechanics of granular materials.

I’m currently a postdoc at INRIA Grenoble, France (National Institute for Research in Computer Science and Control). My principal research interests focus on granular materials. They include (1) computational mechanics, (2) numerical modeling and simulation with DEM, (3) multi-scale approach and homogenization technique and (4) shock dynamics and nonlinear wave propagation. Here are my three principal publications:

PostDoc position, Karlsruhe (Germany): Mechanics of Granular Materials in Fusion Technology

Submitted by Yixiang Gan on

A research position is now opening in the field of Computational Mechanics of granular materials, in Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Germany. This position should start between May and September 2010, and is a full-time fixed-term PostDoc position for 2 years (TVL E13).

Fully funded PhD scholarship in Vienna, Austria. Research topic is the behaviour of granular materials.

Submitted by Markus Wawra on

Fully funded PhD scholarschip for 3 years is available at the Institute of Geotechnical Engineering, Universität für Bodenkultur, Vienna, Austria. The research topic is the behaviour of granular materials. We expect a candidate with solid background in continuum mechanics and constitutive modelling. Some knowledge of DEM (discrete element method) will be a benefit. This project is financed by the European Commission within its Marie Curie Programme. There are some ten international partners in this project. During the project you will visit our partners in UK, Germany, Holland and France.
