Tyre deformation

Dear,I am a student and for my final thesis I have to make a study on the deformation of the sidewall of tires, in order to consider the stability of agricultural vehicles under load. I have found on the Matlab web page the link to Your page, and I used the Digital Image Correlation and Tracking with Matlab. I download the necessary files and tried to analyze my photos with Matlab. 1 - The first problem I get is the fact that I am not able to make the analysis of the entire photo.

Hello all,

 I am Nilesh and doing
study of Continuum damage mechanics, in that context, I have some doubt s

     Can anyone tell
me?

1. As in plasticity we have yield surface  and in damage we have damage surface  but in this case,  does damage surface working same ( for
isotropic and kinematics damage???? ) Like in isotropic and kinematic
hardening??? I mean expansion and movement for isotropic and kinematic damage
case???

J-Integral calculation through ANSYS for a curved crack front (half penny shape) in 3D body

Submitted by amar.singh on

Hi all,

I am a M.Sc. student in a UK University and doing a project in fracture mechanics. I am able to write ANSYS macro for 2D cases but the same approach is not working for 3D case. Could someone give me some clue on how to estimate the J-Integral through ANSYS for a curved crack front in a 3D body (Kolbes specimens).

hi,

i am student of M tech 2nd year and working on fracture mechanics one of the problems i am encoutaring is that my model is a rectangular plate and having a central hole with a crack now problem is that i can not mapped mesh the model in ansys can anyone tell me how to map meshed the model.

Level set use in XFEM

Submitted by Stefano Dal Pont on

Hi,

I have recently approached XFEMs and I've got a few questions...first of all, it's not completely clear how to use the level-set method for crack detection and propagation...

I took a look at http://www.civil.gla.ac.uk/~bordas/xfemMatlab.html but the approach seems quite simplified and works fine only for cracks and meshes parallel to the x,y axis.
