Viscoelastic material: Prony series in Abaqus

Everybody,

I’m using
Prony series to model viscoelasticity of an asphalt material in a pavement. I
have defined the material properties through time-domain Prony series in
Abaqus. The parameters are:

g_i (shear
relaxation modulus ratio): 0.8

k_i (bulk
relaxation modulus ratio): 0

tau_i
(relaxation time): 1

How to draw a graph of stress vs strain in abaqus using python script

I used abaqus to draw the graph of stress vs strain at a node and run
the macro manager.In the macro manager script i came to know that its
taking the node index to draw the graph.But i want know it at a point or
find the node index when a point co-ordinates are given.Plz help me
with this

Tensor operation

I am trying to make a material model for my FEM code and
while deriving Elasticity tensor I found a term where I have to do some
tensor operation. It is as below

P:C:PT  where all the terms are 4th
order tensors. Now I konw the result of this should be a 4th order
tensor only as this term is in addition with other 4th order terms. Here
any (A:B) indicates Double dot product between A and B. 

Please help me out with this if you know or suggest some
good tensor calculus book where I can refer for my problem.

Convergence problem in 2-d axisymmetric elasto-plastic formulation

Dear all,

I am trying to solve the thermal ratcheting of a hollow cylinder using elasto-plastic formulation.

I am applying the moving thermal gradient in axial direction. Our FEM code(Newton Raphson) is converging for first increment but after that it is diverging. I have used 8 noded serendipity element with 9 gauss point.

Anyone  can please help me that why it is happening?

Results file in Ansys

Hi

We modelled an Underslung truss bridge in Ansys.After applying moving loads on the bridge to find augment,when we r solving it ,we are getting an error and Ansys is showing  "Number of results on results file exceeds maximum of 1000,maximum may be increased with /CONFIG command" .What might be the reason for it.We also searched in help for /Config command and did something ,but solving is getting stopped in the middle.Iam new to Ansys.Please help me in this regard.

Abaqus - evaluate stress at point (x, y, z)

Hi everyone,



I would like to evaluate the stress value (e.g  Mises) at a given point (x, y, z) within a 3D model. I cannot force this point to be a node. The problem is modeled with Element Type (C3D4).



Is there a built-in command I can issue in the input file of Abaqus to have Abaqus output the desired value to the output file?



Or, is there a python script I can use for this purpose?
