"Classics" in iMechanica

Submitted by Jayadeep U. B. on

Dear all,

While reading some "old" discussions in iMechanica, I have come across
a blog by Zhigang to have a collection of "classics" in iMechanica.
Immediately, I searched for such a section, but couldn't locate it.  Is
it ever made?  If not, why not start it now?  I am sure there will be
many juniors like me, who are eager to read those classics.

Also, most of the classic papers would be old enough, to have any
copyright-related issues.  Why not post them directly in iMechanica?
Many of the users may not have access to those papers, and even if they
are freely accessible, they would be lying scattered over the web, and
cannot be located easily.  Even in the case of copyrighted materials,
administrators might be able to get the permission for uploading the
papers here, by giving possibility for a small advertisement (like,
giving the name of the journal, which published the paper & link to
their website, along with the title and author).

Some technical issues like "what to include and what not", and the
order in which they should be arranged etc. are to be sorted out by the
experts here!

Regards,

Jayadeep

P.S.: Sorry that I posted this as a comment earlier, instead of a new blog entry.  I request the admin to delete that comment (node/417#comment-12481), if possible.
