Dear Mechanics Colleagues, Peers, Principal Investigators, and Community Members,

Here is a tremendous opportunity to positively impact the field of mechanics for years to come in the USA. The Division of Civil, Mechanical and Manufacturing Innovation (CMMI) in the Directorate for Engineering at the US National Science Foundation (NSF) seeks to fill a Program Director position in the Mechanics and Engineering Materials (MEM) Cluster.

A competitive candidate should have a background or familiarity with a wide range of topics related to the scopes of both the Biomechanics and Mechanobiology (BMMB) and Mechanics of Materials and Structures (MoMS) programs, which form the MEM Cluster. However, candidates with exceptional expertise in only one program may also be considered.

Exceptional leaders have served the mechanics research and education communities in the USA in the recent past and present through the MEM cluster, such as Glaucio Paulino (Princeton), Martin Dunn (U. Colorado, Denver), Dennis Carter (Stanford), David Fyhrie (UC Davis), Thomas Siegmund (Purdue), Kara Peters (NCSU), Michele Grimm (SUNY Albany), Nakhiah Goulbourne (UMich), Laurel Kuxhaus (Clarkson), Wendy Crone (Wisconsin-Madison), and Lucy Zhang (Rensselaer Polytech). Please apply and join this illustrious list!

Find the announcement here: MEM Cluster PD Vacancy. You only need (i) a cover letter outlining qualifications for the position, (ii) a curriculum vitae, and (iii) Citizenship affidavit, as applicable.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
