Two fully funded PhD positions are available as early as Spring, 2024 in Dr. Ning Zhang’s research group at the Baylor University. The research work will focus on the mechanical, chemical, and thermal properties of structural and multifunctional materials.
The research topics include:
(1) Polymer composites;
(2) Medium/High entropy alloys;
(3) High entropy ceramics;
(4) Biomaterials;
(5) Machine learning.
We are building a team of exceptional researchers who are driven by passion and curiosity and are excited by fundamental questions about physics of solids. Our lab operates at the intersection of mechanics, data science, material science and biology, and applied mathematics. Our group conducts multiscale computational modeling including first principle calculations (e.g., DFT), molecular dynamics (MD) simulations, coarse-grained MD simulations, and machine learning (ML), as well as experimental studies.
Interested applicants, please send an email to Dr. Ning Zhang at ning_zhang [at] baylor.edu (ning_zhang[at]baylor[dot]edu) with your CV, and TOEFL scores if applicable. This position is available immediately.
