Multiple PhD positions are available in the areas of elastodynamic modeling, elastic waves, scattering theory, metamaterials, and micromechanics.
A strong background in mechanics is required.
Desired skills include:
- intermediate to advanced mathematics,
- familiarity with polycrystals and microstructure,
- experience with finite element modeling such as Abaqus or Comsol,
- ability to leverage language learning models in research settings,
- ability to verbally articulate research aims and findings
