We have a fully-funded position for a PhD student in the EMSI lab, in mechanical engineering at EPFL, and are seeking qualified applicants. The thesis topic is: Crack front stability in 3D. Information about our lab can be found on our website at: Engineering Mechanics of Soft Interfaces ‐ EPFL

 

What we seek: 

 

A student with substantial laboratory experience, and familiarity with general laboratory instrumentation. Experience with microscopy or imaging is a plus, but not required. The qualified applicant will have some experience with continuum solid mechanics. We are seeking applicants with a master’s degree at the time of the desired start date, but will consider applicants with a bachelor’s degree.
