Dear Colleagues,

We would like to invite you to submit abstract and attend the minisymposium titled "10-4 Elastomeric Fracture" in the 2023 SES Annual Techinical Meeting, October 8-11, 2023, University of Minnesota. https://2023ses.com/

Abstract submissions are due Friday, May 5, 2023

10-4 Elastomeric Fracture

Fracture of polymer networks is an important topic in mechanics of solids and structure. It is the structure that dictates the material strength and influences the toughness. There appears to be room for development of more realistic and effective understanding of fracture of soft networks, from hydrogels, nematic elastomers, to cured rubbers, thanks to recent applications of various visualization techniques, including mechanochemical probing, digital imaging correlation (DIC), and birefringence characterization as well as more advanced theoretical analyses. The symposium provides a platform for new progress to be reported and disseminated in a timely manner fashion.

Sincerely,

Shi-Qing Wang, University of Akron

Lihua Jin, UCLA

Ruobing Bai, Northeastern University
