Postdoc position

Position title: Postdoctoral researcher in physics 

Position summary: The postdoctoral position is a joint position with Prof. Eran Bouchbinder (Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel) and Dr. Edan Lerner (University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands). The postdoctoral researcher will be hired by Prof. Bouchbinder and will be located at Weizmann Institute of Science. The research will be conducted in a close and continuous interaction with both Prof. Bouchbinder and Dr. Lerner, and will involve at least two annual visits to Amsterdam. The postdoctoral researcher will be involved in computer simulations and theory development. The duration of the position is one year, with a possible (and desired) one-year extension.  

Potential projects are available in relation to:

·       Low-energy excitations in glassy solids

·       Stiffening transitions in biomatter

·       Limit cycles and absorbing states in periodically driven disordered systems

Requirements:

- PhD in physics or in a closely related field

- Excellent track record

- Excellent communication and social skills

- Hands-on experience in computational physics and numerical analysis
