1 year post-doc position at INSA-Lyon - Design of Electro-active sensors for Medical Engineering
In the context of the pluri-disciplinar project MIMIMed@Lyon founded by the Carnot Institute, we are looking to hire a post-doctoral candidate for a one-year position, starting early 2023 at INSA-Lyon in France.
The position aims at designing polymer-based electro-active sensors in order to instrument an experimental artificial organs platform (more specifically composed of a mastication simulator and an artificial vascular system) to allow the pre-validation and screening of new medical devices (and thus reduce animal experimentation required for their development). These sensors will enable to identify and quantify the local stresses that can be encountered in representative conditions replicated by the artifical organs, and allow better sizing and durability design of new medical devices.
The candidate should have a PhD in Materials science and have a strong taste for experimental work. Moreover, prior experience in the elaboration/characterization of electro-active polymers or polymer-based composites would definitely be appreciated, as well as a good knowledge in electrical properties.
Please reach out by email before the end of the year, if interested.
