Junior Professorship (W1 Tenure Track W2) in

„Data-driven Modelling and Simulation of Mechanical Systems“



funded by the Tenure Track Programme of the German Federal Government and the Federal States (”WISNA”) to start as soon as possible.

We are looking for a personality who represents the field of data-driven modelling of engineering problems in solid state, structural and fluid mechanics in research and teaching with in-depth expertise in the field of machine learning for modelling engineering systems and measuring instruments (Digital Twins) in civil and environmental engineering. The professorship is primarily linked to the research focus City of the Future via the MUSEN Centre. In addition, an intensive research cooperation with the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) is planned.


The junior professor´s initial appointment is limited to three years. After a positive evaluation, the appointment will be extended by three more years. In accordance with the tenure track statutes of TU Braunschweig, the appointment will be tenured at the level W2 after a positive final evaluation. The requirements of the position are defined in Section 30 of the Lower Saxony Higher Education Act (Niedersächsisches Hochschulgesetz).
