Simpleware Workshop at University College London, May 4th 2016
Date: Wednesday, May 4, 2016
Time: 1:00 - 4:00 pm
Location: University College London
Who should attend
This workshop is aimed at those interested in visualising, measuring, and meshing 3D image data to generate models for 3D Printing, CAD, and FEA simulations. We will demonstrate the ease of obtaining high fidelity meshes from 3D image data, and will show the workflow of processing data for a variety of applications. If you are working in areas such as Materials Science, Geophysics, Biomechanics, Non-Destructive Evaluation and Reverse Engineering, then this workshop is for you.
You will learn how to:
- Visualise and process data from a wide range of imaging modalities (CT, MRI, microCT, FIB-SEM...)
- Obtain measurements and statistics such as porosity, volume, fracture dimensions...
- Import and position CAD files within the image data
- Calculate effective material properties of scanned samples
- Directly export to all leading FE/CFD solvers, e.g. Comsol, Ansys, Abaqus...
- Use Simpleware software in your industry field, for example Aerospace, Oil & Gas, Consumer Products, Automotive, and Medical Devices
Agenda
1:00 pm Presentation and short demo: Introduction to the Simpleware Software suite
2:00 pm Hands-on tutorial (optional): Follow different software tutorials or work on your own data
Bring your own data
Attendees are also encouraged to send in their image data to get personalised support during the hands-on session. All data will be treated confidentially, and a secure FTP site will be available before the workshop.
