Submitted by xubaixiang on

At the Division of Mechanics

of Functional Materials in the institute of Materials Science, TU Darmstadt the

following research position is to be filled as soon as possible:

 Research position (E 13 TV – TU

Darmstadt),
Postdoc/Doctoral Candidate

The position is
scheduled for three years.

Tasks and Opportunities

The research topic is on continuum modeling and numerical

simulation of the hardening behavior and the texture development of sheet

metal, which undergoes severe plastic deformation after linear flow splitting

forming process and forms bifurcated profiles. The main tasks of the candidate

are to formulate and implement a dislocation-density-based hardening model, as

well as an elast-viscoplastic model for the polycrystalline based on crystal

plasticity theory. The project is embedded in a collaborative research center

founded by the German Science Foundation, and thus it offers the opportunity of

close cooperation with the corresponding experimental groups. For a doctoral

candidate a qualification of Ph.D is required at the end of the project; for a

postdoc candidate the position provides the possibility of Habilitation.

Qualifications

Motivated applicants with corresponding qualifications in

engineering and nature science (e.g. Computational Engineering, Applied

Mechanics, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or Applied

Mathematics) are invited. Research experience in continuum mechanics, numerical

simulations and programming are expected, as well as good language skills in German

or English.
