NAC International, a privately owned, U.S. based global provider of solutions and nuclear transportation and design technology for the energy, environmental and electric utilities community, is currently seeking an experienced Senior Applied Mechanics Engineer to work in its corporate office in Norcross, GA. NAC specializes in strategic management, fuel cycle, information management and organizational improvement solutions for the energy, utility and technology communities.
Responsibilities include originate and review applied mechanics analyses for transportation/storage casks and supporting operational hardware systems; interpret and respond to client and regulator questions, comments and issues associated with calculations, Safety Analysis Reports and regulatory documentation; prepare applied mechanics analysis-related calculations and reports for use in licensing applications and supporting business development, proposals and system sales activities; participate in design review meetings through both presentation of originated design analysis and perform critical review of peer project design documentation; and originate and document benchmarking of computer codes used to perform applied mechanics analyses.
Ideal incumbent will have a Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent engineering-related field experience. A minimum of three (3) years of LS-DYNA experience or PHD with two (2) years of LS-DYNA experience is required. Experience in a Nuclear Regulatory Commission-regulated industry with comprehensive knowledge of ASME Code and ASTM Standards is strongly desired. We are looking for a self-starter, independent worker with developed skills and career focus in applied mechanics. Experience with ANSYS and FLUENT software is a plus.
