Submitted by lucadeseri on

Join us to congratulate Professor Davide
Bigoni, who has just been awarded with the ERC Advanced Grant
Proposal 340561 - Instabilities and nonlocal multiscale modelling of
materials, years 2014-2018, 2.4 M.

Congratulations Davide!

Davide is certainly a top professor in the world. Unfortunately there are low class professors both in Italy, and even in MIT.  Davide is extremely brilliant despite the difficult conditions sometimes we suffer in Italy, and the incomparably lower amount of funding that we generallz dispose, with respect to, say, MIT.

It is by no surprise that from Davide school the new generation of Harvard and MIT professors are coming... eg

You say

Instabilities and nonlocal multiscale modelling of materials

Is it also friction?  I am working for example on the slow fronts of friction that Fineberg published in Nature a few times since 2004.  Could that be of interest? It is nonlocal in the sense of asperity modelling and multiscale too.

How to model Bimodulus Material in ANSYS or any Finite Element Analysis software to find out Neutral axis shift in simple bend test.

 Kindly requested for any suggestion.

Dear Awani,

Please, address your question to my former PhD student (now postdoc at Yale) Sara Roccabianca: sara.roccabianca [at] yale.edu

She will help you.

Best wishes,

Davide
