A fully funded PhD position is available at the Department of Mechanics and Materials, Faculty of Transportation Sciences, Czech Technical University in Prague (CTU), Czech Republic, within the international PICTUS doctoral fellowship programme.
The project (topic No. 30) focuses on machine learning-assisted design and optimization of multifunctional metamaterials produced by advanced additive manufacturing technologies. Research topics include structure–property–process relationships, data-driven modeling, inverse design, surrogate modeling, and integration of experimental and computational approaches for architected materials.
Applicants with backgrounds in mechanics, materials science, mechanical engineering, applied physics, computational engineering, or AI/ML applied to engineering are encouraged to apply. Experience with additive manufacturing, metamaterials, finite element modeling, Python/scientific computing, or machine learning methods is advantageous.
The position is fully funded and includes an internationally competitive fellowship.
Applicants must satisfy the mobility condition of the PICTUS programme (not having resided or carried out their main activity in the Czech Republic for more than 12 months during the previous 3 years before the deadline).
