When you create the model (for example a rectangle sample) in abaqus, I don't understand how you apply a crack and how you have a stress distribution in all the sample. Can somebody advise me ?
im modelling a plate in abaqus and I want to impose a crack in the center of the plate, but Iam not able to do so, please can anybody give some advise regarding my problem
Did you look at the benchmark problems in Abaqus documentation. There are some example problems which may help you. Basically you have to partition the face of the model; draw a line at the center of the plate. Assign seam to that line and create a crack at the tip of the line. You will find the details in documentation.
